Pizza Making Competition
Key Steps for Planning a Pizza Making Competition:
Teams & Format
- Teams: Decide if you will compete as teams or individuals
- Each team/individual gets a set time (e.g., 45–60 minutes) to make their pizza
- Option: Pre-made dough vs. making dough from scratch
Judging Criteria (Score out of 10 per category)
- Taste – Flavor balance, seasoning, and overall deliciousness
- Creativity – Unique toppings, presentation, or theme
- Presentation – Visual appeal and plating
- Execution – Properly cooked, good texture, and no burnt crusts
Ingredients & Equipment
- Budget: Establish a budget for ingredients
- Provide a base set of ingredients (dough, cheese, sauce, common toppings)
- Allow additional ingredients (teams bring their own or provided within a budget)
- Shared oven space – consider baking in rounds if needed
Time Limit
- Total time: 45–60 minutes (including prep and cooking)
- Optional: Extra time for teams making dough from scratch
Judging Panel
- Appoint a panel (managers, coworkers, or external judges)
- Consider a People’s Choice Award where everyone votes
Prizes & Recognition
- Categories: Best Overall, Most Creative, Best Presentation, People’s Choice
- Fun prizes (gift cards, pizza-related trophies, bragging rights)
Logistics & Safety
- Ensure a clean workspace and proper hygiene
- Manage oven availability and cooking times
- Have a clear schedule for preparation, baking, and judging
